What a morning
I thought I just a few things to do and we could be on our way to Lake City, boy was I in for a surprise. I needed a cord for my I pod and I was sure Office Depot would have one so I check on goggle for Office Depot office hours. During the week they were 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. That was great because it was a little after seven, so I jumped in the car and was off to Office Depot. As I walked up to the front door something didn’t look right and when if tried to open the door it was locked. Looking to the side I could see the store hours and it clearly stated the hours were 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
I had a back up plan back to Seven Eleven to get Micki here fountain Diet Coke, then to the cleaners to pick up my shirts for the trip. Now back to Office Depot to get my cord for my I pod. They were out of the regular less expensive one but had a fancy one that could be plugged into the cigarette lighter. Yes I know it is now called the power outlet, but all my life it was called a cigarette light.
Micki calls me and wonders where I was. I just said I would be home in ten minutes and I was.
The reason I need the cord is because I wanted to load some books on my I pod to listen to on the way up to Lake City. I thought it was going to be simple, but it wasn’t. When I went to load my I pod software for down loading I got and error, so no down loading yet.
I just went to Itunes.com and reloaded the software. I took forever but didn’t solve my problem, so I scraped that ideas and started closing the storm shutters, you know we are still in hurricane season. This normally is an easy job, but this day it wasn’t.
My desk looks over a large open space and the window is large. To close the shutter I have to climb on my desk. This is not easy because I have nothing to stand on to get on to of the desk. A couple of banks on the shins and I was on top. I opened the window and had my handy six iron to pull the left shutter open, but it didn’t work. I won’t go through all what I had to do, but after a lot of work I got it closed.
It didn’t stop there one of the shutters by our front door jammed and I couldn’t get it close.
The saga continues our alarm system said it had a problem, so I called the alarm company for help. I seemed easy enough the batteries in one window where low and need to be replaced. This projected didn’t go will at all. Some how I broke the sensor. Now the alarm system won’t work at all. Another call and I asked them to bypass that window and they said sure. What I wasn’t told that I had to do something at my end when activating the system.
Just so you know instead of leaving at 9:00 AM we left at 12:30 PM and we did get to Lake City with just a couple of hic cups. Traffic was terrible and we couldn’t figure out why. Will when we checked in to the Holiday Inn I found out what the problem was, it was homecoming week for the University of Florida, they sure have a lot of alumni. By the way Lake City is just little north of Gainesville where University of Florida is.
To top it off the rate for our room was fifty percent more the normal because of Florida’s homecoming.
It was quite a morning and it just seemed to carry on through out the day. Today is going to be a lot better.
