Felling grumpy is good for you

That is what an Australian psychology expert who has been studying emotions has found being grumpy makes us think more clearly. That might be all will and good but what is the impact on people around them. In my opinion grumpy people are downright annoying.

This could be because I am a positive happy person that enjoys life and enjoys being around positive and happy people. When a grump appears it like throwing ice water on me and that is not a very good feeling.

Now that you know how I feel, I have to tell you after some research I have found out that grumpy people actually have some very positive things to add to society. Here is a strong point of grumpy people. There negative moods trigger more attentive, careful thinking, paying greater attention to the external world and I must admit there is time that is needed.

Professor Forgas said: "Whereas positive mood seems to promote creativity, flexibility, co-operation and reliance on mental shortcuts and that is me MR. Positive. So I guess to keep things in balance we need the whole mix of types of people to keep society on the straight and narrow.

I am going to continue to research on grumps so I can put a more positive spin on them. Though I still don’t have to like being around them, I can appreciate what they bring to the table.

Here is question for you. Would you rather work with happy positive person or a grump? Please E-mail at www.dhalind@gmail.com. I won’t use any names, but I will share your thoughts with my listeners and readers.
