T’s the season
T’s the season
It is that time of the year to go out and get the Christmas tree, for those of us the still get real dead trees. A Christmas story won’t be complete unless I told about Micki’s and my first Christmas tree buying experience.
We lived in Michigan and in December it would be dark by 4:30 PM, so when I got home about 5:30 PM it was dark. That did not stop us from going out and getting a tree. Micki told me there was a place to get Christmas trees up Monroe Blvd. just past Outer drive. I know this means nothing to you but it bring back good memory for me. Back to the tree lot, Micki went in and turned left because that is where the Scotts pine trees where, I turn left because that is where the short needles tress where. So those of you that might not know Scott Pines at long needles.
On with the story. Micki waved me to come over to her. I did and asked why. She said she found our tree and I said that can’t be our tree because we, meaning my mother and dad, only have short needle trees. She countered with well we only have Scott Pines, the long needle tree.
When we got home and I on loaded the Scott Pine, I wasn’t the happiest but anything for Micki.
We put up the tree as soon as we go home. Aunt Florence gave us her old tree ornaments and lights. She redid her tree with all new ornaments and light, this was good for us.
Soon the tree was all decorated and we said down and were looking at the tree when we saw two eyes near the top of the tree and the eyes started to get bigger and bigger. Then the tree started to fall. Lucky Chatty our cat got out just fine and we were able to put the tree back up without it showing much damage. As we sat back down we both agree this was not a good looking tree.
Yesterday we bought a Christmas tree in just five minutes. Then we went and got all new light for the tree plus light for outside. Had lunch with Boo, our favorite bartender server. She makes anybody and everybody feel good. I gave a copy of my book to her and she almost did a flip. Then she ran over to her boss and showed him the book. He then said I want two, of which I just happened in the car.
The moral of the story is happiness comes in many forms but whatever the form is enjoy it
Happiness and Wealth to you.
